Midoriya “Deku” Izuku dreams of becoming a Hero but is constantly ridiculed for this dream due to his being Quirkless. Nicknamed “Deku” by his childhood acquaintance Bakugo (Deku means good-for-nothing), Midoriya spends most of his time watching and researching Heroes, hoping to learn their skills enough to become a Hero.

Midoriya’s luck takes a turn, though, when he’s spotted by his idol, All Might, as he tries to save Bakugo from a villain. Seeing Midoriya’s potential, All Might offer him his mentorship and a way to get a Quirk so that he can become the Hero he’s dreamed of becoming. With his new Quirk - One for All - and plenty of Hero studies, Midoriya proves to be a promising Hero-in-training.
