Even though Akai Katana was not able to break any records in the Japanese Arcades, it is nevertheless a great horizontal shooter. Unlike in Deathsmiles Cave chose to go back to 2D sprites over 3D polygons, which gives Akai Katana a great old school look. In addition to the orginal arcade mode Akai Katana Shin also includes a main mode with 7 different stages and a new game system.
